IPL 2023: Sourav Ganguly humbly shakes hand with Virat Kohli after DC's win vs RCB, picture and video viral

IPL 2023: Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly shook hands with each other after match number 50 of IPL 2023 between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday.

Notably, the two were in news for avoiding handshakes with each other after the first leg match between the two teams at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on April 15. A couple of videos featuring the two cricketing stalwarts had gone viral.

In one video, Kohli and Ganguly were seemingly seen avoiding each other during the ceremonial post-match handshakes between the players of the two teams. In another from the match, fans claimed that Kohli gave Ganguly a death stare while fielding near the boundary rope close to the DC dugout.

Later, a few reports also claimed that the Kohli and Ganguly unfollowed each from their social media handles following the match. With the entire episode fresh in the minds of ardent IPL and cricket fans, the second leg match between the two teams was much anticipated.

Delhi avenged their 23-run defeat with a thumping seven-wicket win with 20 balls to spare. However, much to the happiness of fans there was no round two of 'no handshake' between Kohli and Ganguly.

Quite expectedly, the pictures and video of the two shaking hands with each other has gone viral. Ganguly can not only be seen shaking hands with Kohli but also putting his hand over his shoulder and patting his back in a very sweet and friendly gesture. A closer look at the picture also shows the two looking at each other.

The relationship between the two former Indian captains have made headlines ever since Kohli's sacking as the ODI captain and the press conference ahead of the South Africa tour in December 2021. Kohli had rubbished Ganguly's claim that he personally reached out to Kohli and asked him to not quit the T20I captaincy.

Ganguly in an interview had said that had Kohli listened to his suggestion, he would have continued as the ODI captain of India. Later, Kohli stepped down from Test captaincy as well. However, the fans and well wishers would hope that the latest gesture by the two helps them in mending their relationship.
