Suryakumar Yadav inspired Mumbai Indians to a terrific victory over the defending Champions Gujarat Titans on Friday (May 12) at the Wankhede Stadium.
Yadav scored an unbeaten 103 runs off just 49 balls, his first century in IPL to take his team to a massive scored of 218. Titans fell 27 runs short of their target and thus Mumbai now sit 3rd in the IPL table. With a couple of games to go, the win on Friday was massive for the Paltans.

Suryakumar played some exquisite shots in the knock, one outrageous scoop for six over the Third man boundary got everyone talking. His shot-making was outrageous, which even made his opponents applaud. Commentators were in awe and even Sachin Tendulkar was captured explaining the outrageous hit by the MI player.
And after the stellar knock, former India batter Virender Sehwag hailed SKY for the treat. Sehwag, speaking to broadcasters Star Sports said the MI batter enhanced the prestige of the Indian Premier League.
"Surya has not only dazzled Wankhede with his batting but has also enhanced the prestige of this tournament. The way GT players praised Surya, was a sight to behold. This is the epitome of the greatness of this batsman. Now, we can say with full confidence that 'Surya Hai To Mumkin Hai' (It is possible if Surya is there)", Sehwag said.
SKY played shots all across the ground and his 360 batting dismantled the rhythm of the bowlers. GT captain Hardik Pandya thought so and Sehwag also concurred with Pandya in the show.
"Surya is playing with fielders of fine leg and square leg. He has a very good sweep shot in his batting repertoire. In doing so, Surya spoiled the rhythm of GT's spinners and strengthened his team. On the basis of this strength, Vishnu Vinod played an entertaining and useful inning," he added.
Surya's fantastic knock against the Titans means he is now up to 3rd in the Orange Cap leaderboard, with 479 runs after 12 innings. The India batter has scored five 50+ scores in his last 7 IPL innings, including 4 fifties and one hundred.
