IPL 2023: Rajasthan Royals (RR) completed season double over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by beating them by 32 runs in their second meeting of the IPL 2023, In the match held at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Rajasthan outplayed Chennai in all the departments of the game.
The hosts posted 202/5 - first-ever 200-plus IPL total at the venue after opting to bat first. The above-part total kept Rajasthan in good stead as they perfectly executed their bowling plans to break their two-match losing streak and reclaim the top spot in the 10-team table.

Here are the three reasons why CSK lost to RR in match 37 of IPL 2023
The 21-year-old opener was nothing less than outstanding in the match. He proved his captain Sanju Samson's decision to bat first right by smashing 77 runs off 43 balls. The innings by the southpaw was the major difference between the two sides.
The eight fours and four sixes from Jaiswal put Rajasthan in the driving seat. His opening stand of 86 with 50 saw him score 53 off 29. In the 39-run partnership off 29 balls with Samson for the second wicket, he scored 20 off 12 when his captain could accumulate just 17 runs off as many balls.
Jaiswal's blitz helped RR pile up 64 runs in the powerplay overs. Chennai, on the other hand, could accumulate only 42 runs in the first six overs of their innings. CSK captain MS Dhoni, in the post-match presentation ceremony, himself praised Jaiswal's stellar knock.
CSK missed the opportunity to pull back things in their favour in the final two overs of Rajasthan's innings. After conceding seven runs each from overs 14 to 17, CSK leaked 13 runs in the 18th over, 16 runs in the 19th over and 20 runs in the final over.
On the flip side, Rajasthan bowlers showed a lot of discipline. CSK collected 16 and 12 runs respectively in the 17th and 18th over respectively. However, despite the presence of Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja in the middle. The side gave away just nine and fours runs in the 19th and 20th over respectively.
Rajasthan scored 38 runs on their last 12 deliveries, while Chennai managed 13 runs only.
Having a left-hand, right-hand combination is fine but that hardly matters in case a player is out-of-form or say, the other player can hit the ball more briskly than the other. CSK's batting unit has anyway revolved around three players.
Moeen Ali who piled up close to 250 runs or Ravindra Jadeja whose batting has been a revelation in the last 3-4 years were sent after Impact Player Ambati Rayudu who is averaging 16.60 after seven innings this season.
T20 or cricket in general is a game of momentum and nobody understands it better than Dhoni. However, CSK might have done a mistake by not sending Jadeja (23* off 15) or Moeen Ali (23 off 12) up the order. Notably, the only time CSK looked like dominating RR was when Dube and Moeen were together in the middle.
Opener Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad partnered for 42 runs off 36 balls. The partnership between Dube and Moeen for 51 runs off 25 balls was the highest for CSK. It was followed by a sixth-wicket partnership between Dube and Jadeja which accounted for 46 off 31.
