IPL 2023: Gujarat Titans (GT) all-rounder Vijay Shankar smoked five sixes and four fours en route to his 24-ball 63 unbeaten runs to set the Twitter on fire. The serious power-hitting from the right-hand batter saw defending champions GT post 204/4 in the 20 overs.
The fifth wicket unbeaten partnership between Shankar and David Miller saw 51 runs being scored in just 16 overs. The Tamil Nadu batter scored his first boundary after facing five deliveries and then dealt in singles for the next five deliveries again.

However, he cut himself loose on the fifth ball off the 18th over by smashing a boundary towards short fine leg on the bowling of Sunil Narine. The following over from pacer Lockie Ferguson saw him smash two fours and two sixes.
In the 20th over from Shardul Thakur, he hit three back-to-back three sixes on the third, fourth and sixth deliveries. With the first six, the 32-year-old brought up his fifty off 21 balls. Only Ajinkya Rahane (19), Jos Buttler (20) and Shardul Thakur (20) have scored a faster fifty than Shankar in this season.
Here's how Twitter reacted to the blazing innings from Shankar.
Shankar scored 27 off 21 balls runs against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the first match and followed it up with 29 runs 0ff 23 balls against Delhi Capitals (DC).
