IPL 2023: 'Blatant Fixing' - Fans question umpiring standards during SRH vs MI match in Hyderabad

IPL 2023: The umpiring standard - both on-field and off-field by third umpire - was slammed by fans during the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday. As a result 'umpire' started trending on Twitter during the match.

One of the umpiring howlers according to the fan was when SRH's Marco Jansen flicked a delivery back inside the boundary rope while fielding at long-off. Fans were of the opinion that Jansen had touched the ground during the process and a six should have been awarded.

In fact, the on-air commentators were also of the same view. Later during Hyderabad's batting innings, the umpire sent a caught-behind decision upstairs even without Mumbai asking for any review. Here's how the fans have reacted to the fielding standards in match number 25 of the IPL 2023.

Talking about the match, visitors Mumbai Indians posted 192/5 after being put to bat first. Cameron Green top-scored for the side with unbeaten 64 runs off 40 balls. Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma scored 38 and 37 runs respectively. Marcos Jansen picked two wickets for SRH.

Hyderabad lost two quick wickets before Mayank Agarwal and Heinrich Klaasen brought them back in the match.
