The Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir verbal altercation on Monday (May 1) has garnered widespread criticism for both personnel.
Gambhir, who is a mentor of Lucknow Super Giants, clashed with his former India teammate, RCB's Virat Kohli at the end of the match. The pair had their fight as Kohli used abusive language during the match to LSG player Naveen-ul-Haq, and the series of events just got beyond control.

Since the incident, cricket experts have gravely criticized both Gambhir and Kohli. Their aggression and emotion made them lose control and the pair's juvenile behaviour has been bashed by pundits and ex-cricketers.
But one unnamed former India player, who shared the dressing room with both players, had a different thing to say about the incident. He took a dig at Gautam Gambhir and says the former KKR captain is not 'the easiest person to handle'.
"It is a bit of a complicated relationship between the two. Gautam is not a bad human being but not the easiest person to handle. He had no business to gesture that finger on lips to the crowd at Chinnaswamy, which swears by Virat's name," the former player said to PTI.
"Now here, Virat got a chance to show one-upmanship, and he did. He knows that Gautam has been a staunch critic of his captaincy and even he won't take a step back," he added.
The incident has further continued in the social media. Fans of both players took matters in their own hands and created a social battle between themselves. It also didn't help that Kohli has 55.4 million followers on Twitter alone, while the BJP Parliamentarian is no light either, with 12.5 million followers of his own.

The people in their close quarters have either spread fake narratives or have bigged up the incident. They have glorified from their perspective, making the matter worse.
One from RCB's social media content team asked skipper Faf du Plessis about Kohli's 'aggression', which was quite novice and churlish at the same time. This is the same kind of aggression which the former India skipper admitted that it felt 'fake'.
But the RCB social media team, in trying to justify it, made them look petty.
On the other hand, Gambhir's political secretary Gaurav Arora from his twitter handle @gauravbir786 wrote, "Asking your trolls to abuse Gautam Gambhir's daughters is an unacceptable low. Matches will come and go. Show some class Kohli!"
It was an unnecessary and disappointing incident which has paled the amazing achievement RCB had in the field. They defended their joint-lowest (126 runs) total in IPL history, as they beat LSG by 18 runs.
