IPL 2023 Final: Virat Kohli to Robin Uthappa - cricketers react as Chennai Super Kings win 5th title

Chennai Super Kings completed a stellar season with IPL glory as they beat Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023 Final on Monday (May 29).

It was a fabulous performance by CSK batters as they chased 171 runs in 15 overs to register the elusive victory. After finishing 9th last season, CSK roared back under the leadership of MS Dhoni to win their 5th title.

It means CSK now have equalled with Mumbai Indians as the most successful IPL franchise with 5 IPL victories to their name. The following of CSK reached a different level due to the speculation of MS Dhoni's retirement.

They gathered enormous support across the country and the sweet words were pouring in after CSK's IPL triumph. Several ex and current players took to Twitter to congratulate them. Here are some of the Twitter and social media reactions-

"Woooww ! What a win . Jaddu you beauty. Great contribution from Rayudu, Rahane , Dube. Mohit was brilliant but @ChennaiIPL knows how to win from impossible situations. Whistle Podu all the way," captioned Virender Sehwag on Twitter.

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan hailed Ambati Rayudu and Ravindra Jadeja for their contributions. Rayudu played his last IPL match as the 37-year-old retires from cricket.

Former CSK player Suresh Raina also congratulated the team after their victory.

IPL commentator and expert Harsha Bhogle also took to Twitter after the match and congratulated CSK.

"Congratulations @ChennaiIPL. You are a great franchise. And I say so after speaking to the players who always seem to think they are given a fair deal, even through last year's campaign. A 5th title is huge," Bhogle wrote.

Here is what Virat Kohli had to say. The Indian batter is currently in London and preparing for the WTC Final which starts from June 7. But he had an eye on the match it seems.
