IPL 2023: Which team has the Strongest Batting Line Up in IPL season 16

IPL 2023: Which team hs the strongest batting lineup? What makes them the strongest in the league? Who are some of their biggest stars in the batting? Know all here on mykhel.com

The Indian Premier League is just a week away. As the country prepares for the biggest cricket carnival of the year, this year promises to be a huge one.

IPL 2023 will be played across the country for the first time in four years. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, this will be the first time the tournament will be played in the traditional home and away format.

IPL 2023 Deepak Hooda

As teams eye to prepare for the new season, our focus today is on the strongest batting contingent. Batting is perhaps the keystone component of T20 format, as spectators fill the ground in anticipation of entertainment - which is brought by clearing the fences and breaching the ropes.

Among the 10 IPL sides, there are a few names who have a strong batting lineup this year. The likes of Gujarat Titans, Delhi Capitals have a formidable lineup, but perhaps the strongest are Lucknow Super Giants.

Lucknow Super Giants have a fantastic batting lineup in this IPL, and their batting depth is quite stunning. Not just the personnel, the diversity in their batting lineup is also quite sublime, consisting of dashers, anchors and class players.

Here are a few components of the Lucknow Super Giants batting lineup-

LSG batting: Top openers in Rahul and De Kock

Lucknow Super Giants have an enviable opening pair in KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock. Both players oozes class and have the ability to win the match by their own hands. The striking fashion of their batting is a treat to eye, and although De Kock is more of a dasher, their captain KL Rahul has the ability to play an anchor role and play the entirety of an inning.

KL Rahul QDK

KL Rahul has endured a bad period in the last few months with India, but the batter has always risen when it comes to IPL. The 30-year-old has scored plenty of runs in the last couple of seasons, and is a massive pillar of the team. Together, the pair has the ability to give LSG a steady start, or a stormy one when required.

LSG batting: Formidable Middle-order fuelled by a Carribbean

LSG had a strong middle order last season. Deepak Hooda was a cornerstone in that setup, while the likes of Krunal Pandya, Manan Vohra and Marcus Stoinis played their part. Stoinis, one of the brutal most T20 players, was a draft pick for LSG last season and performed decently. Also youngster Ayush Badoni stepped up and played some memorable knocks in the last season, amassing 161 runs as a no. 6 or no. 7 batter.

But this season, they have taken things up by a notch. Along with their former artillery, LSG roped in Kyle Mayers and Nicholas Pooran in the auction, thus compounding their lethality in the batting unit. The West Indies duo are two sublime additions to their ranks. Nicholas Pooran is one of the most destructive batters in the world. The Southpaw was acquired for a whopping sum of INR 16 crore, as Mayers was for INR 50 lakh.

pooran

Bith batters are hell raisers on their day and have the capacity to disarray their opposition. Pooran is a match winner who can change the dynamic of a match by himself. With Deepak Hooda along with Pooran and company, it looks scary for the opponents.

LSG: Lucknow bat deep, and bat well

Lucknow's batting order gets the crucial edge from their lower middle order. They have some top notch hitters down the order, who are no strangers with the long handle and can clear the fence with ease. Romario Shepherd (T20 SR 149) is a destroyer, as the Windies all-rounder has overwhelming number of sixes in his short T20 career (17 sixes in 9 innings). Apart from him, Krishnappa Gowtham is another fantastic hitter of the ball, so is Daniel Sams.

It is fair to say Lucknow bat deep and they have some quality batters in their ranks. Even in the last season, three of the top Ten highest run getters were from LSG. KL Rahul (616 runs) was ranked 2nd in the list, followed by Quinton de Kock (508 runs) at 3rd and Deepak Hooda (451 runs) at 10th position.

This year the expectations will be pretty much the same. KL Rahul's form will be a concern but we often see IPL brings the best out of players. LSG will dearly hope so.
