IPL 2023: Why did Virat Kohli delete his first Instagram Story praising Yashasvi Jaiswal?

IPL 2023: Yashasvi's Jaiswal's 13-ball fifty - the fastest in the history of the IPL - took the cricketing world by storm on Thursday. The 21-year-old Rajasthan Royals opener blasted unbeaten 98 off 47 balls to help his side chase150 in just 13.1 overs against Kolkata Knight Riders.

All those who watched the innings could not stop praising the southpaw who has 575 runs from 12 matches at an average of 52.27 - just a run short of Faf du Plessis - the current Orange Cap Holder.

Even Virat Kohli - former India captain and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star - acknowledged the special effort from Yashasvi posted an Instagram Story, saying, "Wow this is some of the best batting I have seen in a while. What a talent." These words had a still of Jaiswal from the match attached to it.

However, Kohli soon deleted the post and posted a new one with a similar caption but just one tweak. The picture in the first story had the OTT service JioCinema's name visible on the top right corner. Kohli cropped that part in the new story, however, the caption for Jaiswal remained the same.

Notably, Kohli is the brand ambassador of Star Sports and he has played an active role in their IPL ad campaigns. The superstar cricketer and his team must have realised the goof up soon and tried fixing it. But many already had taken the screenshot of the first story.

Kohli himself has been in sublime form in the IPL 2023. He is currently the fifth-highest run-scorer with 420 runs in 11 matches at an average of 42 and a strike rate of 133.75.
