IPL 2023: Robin Uthappa has disagreed with the suggestions from the likes of Suresh Raina and Kevin Pietersen to include youngsters Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rinku Singh in India's 2023 World Cup squad.
The former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star has predicted that there could be major changes in the squad after the 2023 World Cup, adding that experienced and senior cricketers would be trusted with the marquee event.

“From my experience with the Indian team, I feel they will continue with the experienced players because making wholesale changes this close to the World Cup is not wise. And I think form is temporary.
"Having said that, I feel post the World Cup we might see wholesale changes. Yes, there are a few injury concerns which needs to be addressed. We are already missing Bumrah and I hope he gets fit before the World Cup.
"Then you have KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant out and these are areas of concern I feel. I hope we put out a fit team and give ourselves the best chance to win the World Cup,” Uthappa told JioCinema.
Further, the former India opener has heaped rich praises on Shubman Gill and Jaiswal. He has said Gill has the potential to become as big as Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar. Uthappa opined that Gill and Jaiswal are the next two big things of Indian cricket.
"I definitely see him having the potential of being someone who’s as big as Virat Kohli or Sachin Tendulkar. I certainly think he’s got the stuff. He’s a phenomenal player who is in exceptional form and is playing some great cricket at the moment.
"I certainly feel and believe personally that Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal are the two next big things in Indian cricket," he said in a media interaction organised by Jio Cinema.
Both the youngsters are in top form in the ongoing IPL 2023 and have slammed a hundred each.
