IPL 2024: 200 Momos in 12 Hours - IPL Expert shares Love for Momos and a Bizarre Story of Dharamshala

By MyKhel Staff

Punjab Kings are playing their final two IPL 2024 home games at the scintillating Dharamshala. The Himachal Pradesh town is surrounded by the Dhauladhar Range, and is known for its amazing scenic beauty.

The stadium itself has huge aesthetic value, but recently, an IPL expert expressed his love for the stadium for some Himalayan Delicacy.

IPL 2024

IPL 2024 experts Scott Styris, Graeme Smith, and Brett Lee were recently discussing the most scenic cricket grounds in the world on JioCinema and Styris stated that in terms of Indian stadiums, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala topped the list.

However, the debate took an unexpectedly funny turn when Styris said he was giving the stadium bonus points because of the "unbelievable" momos served in the vicinity!

As his co-commentators Lee and Smith sat puzzled about what a Momo is, the former New Zealand international was delighted to do the honours of not only describing the delicious snack but also confessing to a shocking momo binge-eating incident that he was once involved in.

What are Momos?

Momos are a type of steamed-filled dumpling which consists of vegetables, chicken or other meat. The food is very popular in Tibetian and Nepali cuisine, and has grown popular in neighbouring Bhutan and India. It is often served with a soup made up of vegetable or chicken broth along with a Szechuan sauce or other indigenously made sauces.

200 Momos in 12 Hours - A Momoth Binge

When asked about the number of momos he ate, Styris confessed that Mark Waugh, Michael Slater, Tom Moody, Greg Blewett, Brendon Julian, Craig Cumming, and he once ate 200 momos in 12 hours during a 2016 T20 World Cup fixture between Australia and New Zealand in Dharamshala.
