IPL 2024: Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has not been in his best form in the ongoing IPL 2024, scoring just 121 runs in seven matches at an average of 17.28. With the T20 World Cup 2024 approaching, the southpaw's form has left well-wishers worried.
Jaiswal was in top form before the start of IPL 2024. He finished as the leading run-scorer in the preceding 5-Test series against England. The southpaw scored 712 runs in nine innings at an average of 89. The second-highest scorer in the series accumulated 452 runs.

Cricketer-turned-commentator Akash Chopra has criticised Yashasvi Jaiswal for his innings against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens on Tuesday. He scored 19 off 9 before being dismissed by Vaibhav Arora.
Chopra has reckoned that Yashasvi should be the classical player he is and not look to just hit every delivery out of the park using force and power. He added that India captain Rohit Sharma should call Yashasvi Jaiswal and ask him to play cautiously and get back his form before the T20 World Cup 2024 which starts in June.
"I am getting slightly worried about Yashasvi because Yashasvi didn't used to play like this. He is trying to murder every ball. You are a very good player, and you are good because you believe in timing. You are not a wrestler and you are not Andre Russell. Your playing style is very different," Chopra said on his YouTube channel.
"Since I like this kid a lot, I want Kumar Sangakkara to talk to him, or else Rohit Sharma should pick up the phone and talk to him and say - 'You have to go to the T20 World Cup but this form is not required, play a little cautiously'. He hit a six and a four, and then tried another big shot and got out."
Yashasvi Jaiswal would be competing for a place in India's T20 World Cup squad alongside the likes of Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan. There is also a section in Indian cricket that wants Virat Kohli to open with Rohit Sharma.
