IPL 2024 Auction: Brad Hogg has predicted that Mumbai Indians (MI) would look to bid for pacers Gerald Coetzee and Lance Morris in the IPL 2024 Auction scheduled to be held on Tuesday, December 19 in Dubai.
The former Australia has reckoned that Mumbai Indians, who have released Jofra Archer, would be looking for pacers who can complement Jasprit Bumrah and Jason Behrendorff. He has backed South Africa pace sensation Coetzee and Behrendorff for the role.

"They need a fast bowler, they have been boosted with an Indian all-rounder in Hardik Pandya. They still need someone to complement Bumrah and Behrendorff. I think they will go for Coetzee upfront, they will be hoping to get him cheaply. If not Coetzee, then they will go for Lance Morris. If MI get both Coetzee and Morris, they will be challenging GT because they will have a very balanced lineup," Brad Hogg said on his YouTube channel.
Mumbai Indians have a purse of Rs 17.75 crore in which they can buy a maximum of eight players including four overseas stars. The released the likes of Jhye Richardson, Riley Meredith and Chris Jordan ahead of the IPL 2024 mini-auction.

Further, Hogg also talked about the possible plan from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) going into the auction. KKR have a purse of Rs 32.7 crore and can buy a maximum of 12 players - most by a franchise in the IPL 2024 auction. Hogg said KKR could get involved in a bidding war for their former player and Australia's World Cup 2023-winning captain Pat Cummins.
"They have got rid of a lot of players and they need to pick up a lot as well in the auction. I think they are going to go after Pat Cummins. I think they will go after (Kartik) Tyagi as well, just for a little bit of extra pace in the Indian department, and also, Harshal Patel," the former KKR player said.
The IPL 2024 auction list consists of 333 players including 224 from India. A total of 77 slots, including a maximum of 30 overseas slots are left to be filled by the ten IPL franchises.
