IPL 2024 Auction: Mustafizur Rahman's video of being pushed by MS Dhoni in an India vs Bangladesh match has gone viral after the left-arm pacer was roped in by Chennai Super Kings at his base price of Rs 2 crore.

In a 2015 ODI match in Mirpur, Mustafizur Rahman who was making his debut in the format, appeared to have deliberately came in Dhoni's path. The former India captain played the ball towards mid-off and set off for a single.

Realising what Mustafizur Rahman was trying to do, he shoved him with his forearm. The Bangladesh pacer left the field before returning to complete his five-for in dubut. Earlier in the same match, Rohit Sharma had collided with Rahman and angrily pointed his finger at him.

As soon as CSK bought Mustafizur Rahman in the accelerated round, fans recalled the incident. In fact, even the official social media handles of CSK shared the video of the incident.

Mustafizur Rahman played for Delhi Capitals (DC) in the IPL 2022 and 2022 season. He was bought for Rs crore there as well. He played 8 matches in 2022 and just two in the 2023 season.

Overall, the 28-year-old has played in 48 IPL matches and picked 47 wickets at an economy of 7.93 and an average of 30.72. He has played 85 T20I matches for Bangladesh and picked 103 wickets at an average of 22.27 and an economy rate of 7.58. He will bowl in the company of Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur for CSK.
