The IPL 2024 auction is set to be held on Tuesday (December 19) in Dubai. The prestigious tournament is entering its 17th season and ten teams will be hoping to bolster their squad ahead of the new edition.

There will be some seasoned pros going under the hammer in the auction. But along with those coveted names, a lot of youngsters are set to try their luck in the franchise world as they join the auction fray.

In the IPL 2024 auction, 18 players aged 19 or lower have registered and it is to be seen how many of them eventually manage to find a home for the upcoming season. But this article focuses on the five youngest names in the auction. Hence let's have a look-

Musheer Khan

DOB: 27th February, 2005

Age: 18

Role: Batter

State Team: Mumbai

Musheer Khan is a young Indian U19 player who is set to be the part of the upcoming U19 World Cup in South Africa. The young batter hails from Mumbai and bats in the middle order. Though predominantly a batter, Musheer knows to roll his arms and bowls left-arm orthodox spin. He has already represented Mumbai in three Ranji matches. Notably, he is the brother of Mumbai-batter Sarfaraz Khan, who has also represented the likes of RCB, DC in IPL.

Swastik Chhikara

DOB: 3rd April, 2005

Age: 18

Role: Batter

State Team: Uttar Pradesh

Swastik Chhikara is a bright prospect of Uttar Pradesh cricket and can make a name for himself in future. The 18-year-old made his Uttar Pradesh debut this year and has done well. He scored a century on his List A debut against Himachal Pradesh and has shown his aggressive batting skills in the short stint so far.

Avinash Rao Aravelly

DOB: 2nd June, 2005

Age: 18

Role: Wicketkeeper-Batter

State Team: Hyderabad

Avinash Rao Aravelly plays for Hyderabad and is a wicketkeeper batter. He is the youngest Indian to feature in the auction this year.

Allah Ghaznafar

Country: Afghanistan

DOB: 20th March, 2006

Age: 17

Role: Bowler

Allah Ghaznafar is a spinner from Afghanistan who has signed up for this auction. He was part of the previous auction as well.

Kwena Maphaka

Country: South Africa

DOB: 8th April, 2006

Age: 17

Role: Bowler

Kwena Maphaka is the youngest player in the IPL 2024 auction. The South African pacer has played the U19 team and also represented Paarl Royals in the SA20 league.

It is to be seen if the teenager gets picked in the auction as Rajasthan Royals may keep an eye on him.
