IPL 2024 Auction: Four India capped players who may go Unsold in Auction

The IPL 2024 auction is around the corner. The teams will again be at the table finalizing their squad ahead of the upcoming season.

The auction is set to take place in Dubai on December 19. After the complete retention and release process, we are set to witness some big names going under the hammer.

IPL 2024 Auction

A total of 1,166 players have registered for the auction and out of them, only 77 slots are to be filled. The franchises will shortlist their preferred names and then we may get a detailed list of the players.

Among the Indian players who will be going under the hammer, there are 18 capped players. In this article, we have shortlisted four Indian players who may not have any takers in the auction. Let's have a look -

Kedar Jadhav

Kedar Jadhav's base price of INR 2 crore looks excessive. The former India player has been out of the IPL fold for a long time. Even his acquisition by RCB last season as a replacement wasn't fruitful as the veteran didn't get a game.

The 38-year-old has still put his base price of INR 2 crore, which may be too much for franchises to lift their pedals. He has only played 14 matches since 2020 and may find no team in the upcoming auction.

Hanuma Vihari

Hanuma Vihari hasn't been a regular in IPL over the years. The India player, who has played 16 Tests, managed only 24 IPL matches since making his debut in 2013 and hasn't played a match since 2019.

Vihari's base price is quite moderate at INR 50 lakh but it still may not be enough to land him a team. The 30-year-old has gone unsold in the past few auctions and we may see deja vu in the upcoming one as well.

Varun Aaron

India's pace star Varun Aaron has never been a success story in IPL despite all of his potentials. The Jharkhand player has played over 50 IPL matches but the return is quite modest, to say the least.

Aaron was part of Gujarat Titans squad in 2022 but was relieved of his role this year. Since 2019, he has only made 10 appearances and we may witness the pacer going unsold in the auction.

Shahbaz Nadeem

Shahbaz Nadeem had a fantastic rise in the IPL. The left-arm spinner did exceedingly well for Delhi Capitals and then was roped in by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a staggering INR 3.2 crore in 2019.

Nadeem has played 72 IPL matches and has 48 wickets, and his IPL plaudits earned him India cap as well. But the SRH move didn't work out for the spinner and he could only manage 11 appearances in three years.

And since 2022, the player hasn't found any team and we may witness the same in IPL 2024 auction.
