IPL 2024 Auction: Three Karnataka Players RCB can buy in Auction

Royal Challengers Bangalore have most of the bases covered as they head to the upcoming IPL 2024 auction on December 19. But they will have to fill the void of their outgoing players in the upcoming edition to bolster their bid for the maiden title next season.

RCB let go of 11 players in the auction and some of them have been huge names. Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel and Josh Hazlewood were among their marquee departures, whereas a few of their domestic uncapped players were also shown the exit door.

IPL 2024

As the hammer rises in Dubai, they will have to find the right balance in their squad which can conjure up a decent performance next season. In terms of recruitment, they have only 6 slots to fill and they will be aiming to recruit at least a couple of young Indian players in the rank.

In the IPL 2023 season, the mid-season arrival of Vyshak Vijay Kumar did wonders for RCB. The left-arm pacer from Karnataka was excellent with the ball and got his reward with a retention. Manoj Bhandage, another promising Karnataka player was also retained by them.

Ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, RCB may again delve into their Karnataka resources to add to their firepower. Here are three players from Karnataka who can be a decent addition for RCB-

BR Sharath

BR Sharath has been a prolific performer for Karnataka in the domestic circuit. The wicketkeeper-batter is known for his explosive up at the top and is a decent player to have in the ranks. The 27-year-old can be a decent backup in the team for Anuj Rawat and RCB can eye for him in the auction.

Shubhang Hegde

Shubhang Hegde is a 22-year-old all-rounder whose primary role is as a left-arm orthodox spinner, who can bat as well. The youngster has played for the Belagavi Panthers, and has been in the Karnataka side as well in the Ranji Trophy last year.

RCB signed Mayank Dagar from SRH on a trade, who has a similar profile, but Hegde can be someone who they can try on in the upcoming auction.

Manish Pandey

Manish Pandey was released by Delhi Capitals ahead of the auction. The former India player has huge experience in IPL having played for multiple franchises, but a return to his first-ever IPL team will have a nostalgic touch.

Pandey has been in decent form in domestic cricket but failed to replicate that in the IPL last year. But a move back to RCB can do wonders for him. Pandey's IPL experience and class can be valuable for RCB in the middle order and don't be surprised if RCB raise the peddle for Pandey in the auction.
