IPL 2024 Auction: RCB, KKR, CSK on Alert! Four overseas stars who may earn big in Auction

The IPL auction for the 2024 season is set to happen on December 19 in Dubai. Many top stars, both Indian and overseas will be going under the hammer as they look to find a team for the upcoming season.

The Indian Premier League has always been a platform that launches talented cricketers into the international limelight while marquee players are often dominate the headlines during the auction, several underrated players possess tremendous potential but fly under the radar.

Here are four names who may be second string but can pack a punch and will definitely be on the list of a few teams in the IPL 2024 auction-

Gerald Coetzee

Gerald Coetzee gained immense popularity among cricket fans for his exceptional performance in the 2023 World Cup. Representing South Africa, he emerged as the leading wicket-taker for the Proteas, taking a remarkable 20 wickets in eight matches during the ODI tournament.

Coetzee has been a fantastic player and can be top signing for Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR let go two of their overseas bowlers Lockie Ferguson and Tim Southee, and the young South African can be a perfect replacement.

Josh Inglis

Josh Inglis never played in the IPL but he has been growing in statures for Australia. The 28-year-old was a regular for Australia in the World Cup 2023 and then scored a fantastic century for them against India in the T20 series.

In 105 T20 matches, Inglis has scored 2623 runs and his strike rate is pretty impressive as well, hovering around 148. Inglis is someone who can be a top-notch signing for many teams. Inglis' ability to keep wickets can be an added boost as well.

Azmatullah Omarzai

Azmatullah Omarzai has been a revelation for Afghanistan in this year. He had an excellent World Cup 2023, showing his all-round skills at the biggest stage of cricket. The 23-year-old is a middle-order batter and is also a handy medium pacer who has a knack of picking wickets.

Omarzai can be a perfect fit for many teams, with teams like Chennai Super Kings, and Lucknow Super Giants can bolster themselves with Omarzai's inclusion. He has a T20 strike rate of 130 with the bat in 62 matches, and whereas also picked up 59 wickets to go with it. Keep an eye on the youngster, as may see bidding wars for him.

Dilshan Madushanka

Dilshan Madushanka has been one of the few bright sparks for Sri Lanka in recent years. The left-arm pacer looks like a top prospect and has shown his quality, most recently in the World Cup 2023 where he picked up 21 wickets in just nine matches.

The lanky pacer has excellent control and coupled with his pace, can be a good addition for any IPL team. His low base price of 50 lakh is another reason for teams to be interested in him.
