IPL 2023 Auction: The IPL 2024 auction is set to take place on December 19 in Dubai. A total of 1166 players - 830 Indians and 339 overseas stars - have registered their names for the auction in the list shared with the IPL franchises on Friday, December 1.
Like every time, Australian cricketers are set to create major buzz in the auction room. The likes of Steve Smith, Ashton Agar. Daniel Sams and Chris Lynn have enrolled their names in the list, but here are the five Australian players who can force the ten franchises to break their banks on December 19 in Dubai.

Pat Cummins: Australia's World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins has once made himself available for the Indian Premier League (IPL). He last played in the cash-rich league in 2022 for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
He made himself unavailable for the IPL 2023, but with the T20 World Cup approaching, the fast bowler is ready to ply his trade in the IPL 2024. Cummins has immensely grown in stature after winning the WTC and World Cup trophy for India.
A gun bowler, a handy batter and a proven leader - Cummins would be on the radars of several franchises.
Travis Head: The hero of the World Cup 2023 final, Travis Head can emerge as the costliest buy in the IPL 2024 mini-auction. He scored 137 runs off just 120 balls in the final. The right-hand opener is also on fire in the ongoing T20I series against India. He scored 35 off 18 in Guwahati, and 31 off 16 in Raipur on Saturday, December 1.
A rich experience of 106 T20 matches, 2466 runs under his belt in the format and a terrific form, is going to force IPL franchises to get into bidding war for Head.
Mitchell Starc: The left-arm Australia pacer is set to feature for the first time in IPL since 2015. He is going to be a major attraction among all the teams. Starc brings with himself a major star attraction and this would add to the buzz around him in the IPL 2024 auction. Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) are expected to get into a major bidding war for the superstar cricketer.
Josh Hazlewood: The fifth ranked T20I bowler in the world was released by RCB ahead of the IPL 2024 mini-auction. His accurate line and length is a nightmare for batters around the world. Hazlewood, who was once more preferred as a Test bowler, is one of the hottest commodities in T20 cricket today. The 32-year-old, who carried an economy and average of 7.59 and 21.53 respectively in T20 cricket, is expected to grab major eyeballs.
Josh Inglis: The wicketkeeper-batter reminds one of a young Aaron Finch. The 28-year-old was part of Australia's 2023 World Cup-winning team. In the first T20I against India right after the World Cup, he scored 110 runs off just 50 balls. His innings consisted of 11 fours and eight sixes. He has featured in 103 T20 matches and scored 2603 runs at an average of 30.98 and a strike rate of 149.76. He has hit three hundreds and 16 fifties in the format.
