IPL 2024 Auction: Top Five Wicketkeeper-batters Up For Grab In India Premier League Mini Auction

IPL 2024 Auction: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 mini-auction is fast approaching. A total of 1166 players - 830 Indians and 339 overseas stars - have registered themselves to go under the hammer on December 19 in Dubai.

Ahead of the auction, all the 10 IPL teams have released and retained a bunch of players from their 2023 season. Their think tanks would enter the auction room with a plan in their minds. Grabbing handy wicketkeeper batter's would be one of them.

Ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, let's have a look at top five wicketkeeper-batters in the humongous list of players. The 10 IPL franchises will have the option to pick among these five world-class wicketkeeper-batter.

IPL 2024 Auction: Josh Inglis to KS Bharat - Top Five Wicketkeeper-batters Up For Grab

Josh Inglis: Australia's 2023 World Cup-winning batter tops the list and is expected to be most sought after wicketkeeper-batter in the IPL 2024 mini-auction.

In the first T20I against India right after the World Cup, he scored 110 runs off just 50 balls. His innings consisted of 11 fours and eight sixes. He has featured in 103 T20 matches and scored 2603 runs at an average of 30.98 and a strike rate of 149.76. He has hit three hundreds and 16 fifties in the format. He has registered himself under the base price of Rs 2 crore.

Phil Salt: Released from Delhi Capitals (DC) ahead of the IPL 2024 mini-auction, England opener and wicketkeeper-batter can be on the radar of multiple teams including Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

In the IPL 2023, he scored 218 runs in nine matches at an average of 27.25 and a strike rate of 163.91. The right-hand batter has featured in 211 T20 matches and scored 4805 runs at an average of 25.28 and a strike rate of 151.19. He has registered himself under the base price of Rs 1.5 crore.


Sam Billings: The England star last featured in IPL during the 2022 season. He scored 169 runs in eight matches at an average of 24.14. Billings is a solid white-ball player who hasn't lived up to his abilities in the IPL.

At the age of 32, he would aim to make an impact in the tournament with his gloves work and scintillating power-hitting. The right-hand batter has an experience of playing in 284 T20 matches in which he has scored 5434 runs at an average of 23.72 and a strike rate of 131.41. He has registered himself under the base price of Rs 1 crore.

KS Bharat: Dropped from the Indian Test team and released from his IPL franchise Gujarat Titans (GT), KS Bharat would be looking to make amends in the IPL 2024. But before that, the Andhra wicketkeeper-batter will have to find a new home.

A known face and an India star already, Bharat is considered as the best wicket-keeper currently in India. In a total of 74 T20 matches, KS Bharat has scored 1266 runs at an average of 19.78 and a strike rate of 110.85. He has registered himself under the base price of Rs 50 lakh.

Ben Duckett: England's 29-year-old Ben Duckett also features in the list. Apart from his job behind the stumps, the southpaw batter gives teams a solid opening option as well. He has showcased good form recently.

Duckett has scores of 47, 48, 107* and 20 in his last four white-ball innings. Overall, Ben Duckett has 4497 runs in 184 T20 matches at an average of 30.18 and a strike rate of 137.52. He has registered himself under the base price of Rs 2 crore.
