IPL 2024 Auction: Top Three South Africa Players Who Can Force Franchises To Break Their Banks

IPL 2023 Auction: The IPL 2024 auction is set to take place on December 19 in Dubai. A total of 1166 players - 830 Indians and 339 overseas stars - have registered their names for the auction in the list shared with the IPL franchises on Friday, December 1.

Like every time, South Africa cricketers are set to create major buzz in the auction room. The likes of Wayne Parnell and Dwaine Pretorius have enrolled their names in the list, but here are the three Australian players who can force the ten franchises to break their banks on December 19 in Dubai.

Rilee Rossouw: The South African star is one of the biggest names in franchise cricket. The 34-year-old southpaw has scored 7933 runs in 312 T20 matches at an average of 30.74 and a strike rate of 144.84. He has six hundreds and 48 fifties to his name in the format.

Rossouw hasn't kept himself in the base category of Rs 2 crore and a successful IPL campaign is one thing from his elusive T20 resume. All the 10 franchises will have their one eye on him.

Geralad Coetzee: The 23-year-old South African pacer emerged as the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the World Cup 2023. He picked 20 wickets in eight matches at an average of 19.80.

Coetzee has made his Test, ODI and T20I debut for South Africa this year and is fast emerging as a premier star of the game. He has picked nine wickets in two Test matches, 31 wickets in 14 ODIs and three wickets in three T20Is.

He has played a total of 41 T20 matches and picked 51 wickets at an average of 19.49. He has a base price of Rs 2 crore, however, he is certain of getting much higher than that. Mumbai Indians are expected to go hard to grab his services.

Rassie van der Dussen: The highly talented South Africa superstar has featured in just three IPL games and with the T20 World Cup 2024 approaching, Dussen is going pounce on the opportunity to make a mark in the IPL 2024.

Placed under the Rs 2 crore base price category, he was the ninth highest run-scorer in the World Cup 2023. He scored 448 runs in 10 matches at an average of 49.77. He smashed two hundreds and two fifties.

Rassie van der Dussen has featured in a total of 168 T20 matches and scored 4680 runs at an average of 35.72 and a strike rate of 129.03. He has hit three hundreds and 30 fifties in the format.
