IPL 2024 Auction: Travis Head set to spark bidding war - KKR, RCB among frontrunners?

Travis Head is going to be a humongous name in the upcoming IPL 2024 auction. The Australian batter is set to take the auction ablaze and is guaranteed to attract bids from multiple franchises.

The IPL 2024 auction is on December 19 and there will be multiple teams eyeing the signing of Travis Head. Hence we can expect an aggressive bidding war when the Australian batter's name comes up in the event.

Travis Head

After his heroics in the World Cup 2023 Final, the hard-hitting southpaw is tipped to make a windfall in the coming IPL auction. Head will be a fantastic addition for any team and we can expect at least four teams in the race for his signature.

Travis Head to KKR or RCB?

KKR and RCB can be the frontrunners to land Travis Head in this auction. RCB do need a top-order batter and Head will fit their requirements perfectly. Along with Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis - Head can be the coveted quartet for RCB which can propel them towards their first IPL title.

For KKR, the prospects are also there. Knight Riders do have a knack of surprising and going all-in for a player in the auction and we can expect bids from them. After releasing many of their overseas players, Head is someone who can bring stability in their batting order. But do KKR need the services of Travis Head? Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Jason Roy (both retained by KKR for IPL 2024) may think otherwise.

CSK, SRH also in the fray for Travis Head

Chennai Super Kings can pair Travis Head along with Ruturaj Gaikwad if Devon Conway struggles to find his form. With INR 31.4 crore in their kitty which can be splashed on a maximum of six players, we can expect CSK giving a go at Head in the auction.

Sunrisers Hyderabad are also in the mix and have a handsome kitty. After releasing Harry Brook this season, SRH will aim for an overseas dasher who can elevate their batting lineup, and Head will be a dream edition for them. In a team which already boasts of Heinrich Klaasen and Aiden Markam, the Australian can form the holy trinity who can cause mayhem for bowlers.
