Royal Challengers Bangalore head into the IPL 2024 Auction with the second biggest purse, needing only to address a few areas after retaining the core of their squad from last season.
After missing out on a playoff spot last season, RCB have opted for a huge change by letting go a big part of their bowling attack, including three first choice picks, to be left with a budget of Rs 23.25 Cores after splashing Rs 17.50 Crore to trade Cameron Green.

RCB like most teams have the numbers needed for a squad of 18 players, but could do with upgrades in a few areas as their playing 11 still doesn't look complete after the first three bowling options were let go during the retention deadline day.
The Bengaluru-based side traded in uncapped Mayank Dagar from Sunrisers Hyderabad with capped Indian all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed heading the other way. So, RCB may only look at strengthening the bowling unit as their batting looks sorted with the arrival of Green.
Now ahead of the auction day, which is set for Tuesday (December 19), here is a look at the Royal Challengers Bangalore retained, released, possible playing 11 and potential targets:
Virat Kohli, Faf Du Plessis, Rajat Patidar, Cameron Green, Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik (wicketkeeper), Mayank Dagar, Karn Sharma/Himanshu Sharma, Vyshak Vijay Kumar, Mohammed Siraj, Reece Topley.
With a solid batting unit and at least 8 or 9 of their playing 11 sorted, RCB could target overseas pace upgrade, Indian pace option and a few homegrown spinners as well as an overseas spin option depending on what they get in the pace department.
