Sunrisers Hyderabad head into the IPL 2024 Auction with the second biggest purse, needing only to address a few areas after retaining the core of their squad from last season.
Despite finishing at the foot of the table, the 2016 champions have not opted for drastic change as they retained 19 players and let go 6 players including three overseas stars to be left with a budget of Rs 34 Crore.

Sunrisers have the minimum requirement needed for a squad of 18 players, but could do with upgrades in a few areas although their playing 11 already looks to be settled as the spine of the team and overseas slots may be something that is carved in stone.
The Hyderabad-based side traded in capped Indian all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed from Royal Challengers Bangalore in a like-for-like replacement with uncapped Mayank Dagar heading the other way. So, SRH may have their playing 11 already settled, but a few upgrades could do them good.
Now ahead of the auction day, which is set for Tuesday (December 19), here is a look at the Sunrisers Hyderabad retained, released, possible playing 11 and potential targets:
Abhishek Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaassen (wicketkeeper), Glenn Phillips, Shahbaz Ahmed, Marco Jansen, Washington Sundar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mayank Markande, Umran Malik/T Natarajan.
With a solid squad already at their disposal, SRH could target an opening batter, an upgrade in the overseas pace options and most importantly a quality specialist spinner.
Opening Batters: Travis Head/Rachin Ravindra
Spinners: Wanindu Hasaranga, Mujeeb Rahman
