The M Chinnaswamy Stadium, established by the patronage of Government of Karnataka in 1969 and situated in the heart of the city of Bengaluru, will host at least seven matches during the seventeenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
Earlier known as Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) stadium, the venue was renamed after Mangalam Chinnaswamy, who was the BCCI President from 1977 to 1980 and had also served in the KSCA for four decades.

The M Chinnaswamy Stadium has served as home venues to Karnataka state teams, the Indian cricket team and since 2008, when Indian Premier League (IPL) started as a home to the Bengaluru-based franchise - Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
KSCA stadium in Bengaluru is expected to host 7 of RCB's home league stage matches. But as per the partially revealed scheduled, RCB will play three games at home from March 25 to April 2.
The venue in Bengaluru will host Punjab Kings, Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders. This will be the thirteenth edition of IPL to be hosted by the venue. Here is a look at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium information, T20 and IPL records at the venue ahead of IPL 2024:
Known to be batters paradise in the limited overs format thanks to the flat wickets and the small ground dimension, bowling at the venue has been a bowler's nightmare. But with black soil being used for the wickets recently, there have been some low-scoring games at the venue.
Going by the record in T20s, the chasing team has had a slight advantage on the wickets at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Even the recent WPL, the teams chasing had more successs.
It's the Indian summer, and the day will see the temperature rising up from 33°C to 38°C in March, but is expected to get cooler in the nights with temperature reducing as low as 23°C.
April and May also will see a similar pattern to March, but we may also see summer rains as there is forecast for showers in the end of April and at the start of May.
