The Indian Premier League 2024 will be held in the country and will be held as per the original schedule from March to May, confirms IPL chairman Arun Dhumal.
The IPL 2024 fate was under the smoke due to the National Assembly Election at the same time next year. As India votes to choose their next Prime Minister, there was questions whether holding IPL at the same time will provide enough security.

But the IPL chairman has confirmed that the tournament will continue as scheduled amid the national elections.
"The IPL will be held in India next year. We will need time to make the schedule because it will be made after the Election Committee announces the dates of the general elections. We will have to see when the different states have their elections and will make the schedule accordingly. We will need to wait and will need to work with the government," Dhumal was quoted as saying by Dainik Jagran.
During the election years, any election in the districts mean the venue city struggles to provide enough security for the match if the match date coincides with election days. In 2019, the IPL continue parallely with the elections and at that time, matches were scheduled to cities where the voting had been over or hadn't even started yet.
It will be the same this year as well as the IPL 2024 schedule will only be released after the election schedule is announced.
