IPL 2024: CSK Fan Murdered by two Mumbai Indians supporters after celebrating Rohit Sharma Wicket
IPL is a tournament which is known to bring family members together. But sometimes it can be fatal as well. In a shocking and disturbing development, an aged man in Kolhapur was killed after an attack last Wednesday (March 27) in Kolhapur.
The Chennai Super Kings fan lost his life in Kolhapur, Maharashtra after being attacked by two Mumbai Indians supporters after he celebrated the wicket of Rohit Sharma during MI's match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024.

The 63-year-old victim, identified as Bandopant Bapuso Tibile, was assaulted by two MI supporters after he celebrated the wicket of Rohit Sharma.
The altercation took place when Tibile, alongside others, was watching the match on television in a village in Kolhapur. His jubilation at Sharma's dismissal during the run chase angered Sagar Sadashiv Jhanjage (35) and Balwant Mahadev Jhanjage (50).
The accused, also residents of Hanmantwadi in Kolhapur, hit Tibile with sticks on his head. The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital but despite receiving medical treatment, succumbed to his injuries on March 31.
Following the assault, police action was swift, with both Sagar and Balwant Jhanjage arrested and a case registered against them. Authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation into this deeply unsettling event.
The IPL, known for its passionate fan following and competitive spirit, has unfortunately witnessed moments where rivalry has crossed the bounds of friendly sportsmanship. This incident serves as a sombre reminder of the potential for sports-related enthusiasm to escalate into violence.
The even bigger shock is the age of the accused and the deceased. A 35-year-old and 50-year-old killing a 63-year-old for a celebration against one's cricket team is an alarming incident.
