IPL 2024: Chennai Super Kings To Play Royal Challengers Bangalore in tournament opener

MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings will open their title defense in the first match of the IPL 2024 against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai on March 22.

BCCI released a schedule for the first 17 days of IPL 2024 (March 22 to April 7) due to the general assembly elections, which take place on April 16. A total of 21 matches will be played in the first 17 days of the tournament.

There will be four doubleheaders throughout this time. On March 23, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings will play their first afternoon game of the season at Mohali. Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders will open their campaign at home against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

On March 24, the Gujarat Titans will play their first-ever matchup with the Mumbai Indians, led by their former captain Hardik Pandya, in Ahmedabad.

The Delhi Capitals will play their two home games in Vizag during the first half of the season, meaning there won't be any games in Delhi.
