Marcus Stoinis created a record for highest individual score in IPL run chase following his unbeaten century during the IPL 2024 match between Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday (April 23).
Stoinis' knock of 124 not out from 63 balls helped LSG chase the highest target of 211 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai against CSK. The Australian all-rounder's maiden century in IPL included 6 sixes and 13 fours.

The LSG star's innings overshadowed CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad's unbeaten 108 off 60 and also eclipsed a decade old best score in a run chase, which was scored by former Punjab Kings opener Paul Valthaty. Here is a look at the highest scores in IPL run chase.
Stoinis registered his first hundred in the IPL and also LSG's first century in a successful run chase. The record for most hundreds in successful IPL run chase was set by Jos Buttler earlier in the season, when the Rajasthan Royals star smashed two tons in a winning cause.
Buttler surpassed chase-master Virat Kohli's tally for most centuries in a successful run chase in IPL history. Kohli has 2 hundreds in chase, while Buttler has 3 tons now. Buttler's compatriot Ben Stokes also has 2 hundreds in successful IPL run chases.
