During the high-stakes Eliminator match against Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad, Maxwell's performance left much to be desired.

RCB Fans Angry with Glenn Maxwell

Adding to the frustration, Maxwell's fielding has also been under scrutiny, with several dropped catches compounding RCB's woes. Fans on Twitter did not hold back, expressing their anger and disappointment over Maxwell's repeated failures. Here are some of the reactions:

"Maxwell needs to be dropped next season. Four ducks and countless dropped catches. Unbelievable!"

"Another golden duck for Maxwell! He's been a liability for RCB this season."
"Maxwell's form has been disastrous. We needed him to step up today, and he let us down again."

With such a torrid season behind him, Maxwell will be hoping to redeem himself in future campaigns, but for now, the fans' patience seems to have worn thin.

Maxwell, who has struggled throughout the season, was expected to rise to the occasion. However, he was dismissed for a golden duck by Ravichandran Ashwin in the 13th over, caught at long-on after an ill-fated attempt to go big on the very first ball. This failure added pressure on RCB during a crucial juncture of the game.

This dismissal marked Maxwell's fourth duck of the season, highlighting a dismal run with the bat. With an average of just 5.77, Maxwell ranks as one of the poorest performers among top-six batsmen this IPL season, only slightly ahead of Devdutt Padikkal, who averaged 5.42.

In total, Maxwell managed just 52 runs this season with a strike rate of 120. After scoring a duck, Glenn Maxwell dropped Tom Kohler-Cadmore.
