The IPL 2024 chapter has finally come to an end recently. KKR defied the challenges that came across their way. They deservedly crossed the finishing line by beating SRH to win the coveted trophy for the third time.

Apart from KKR, teams like SRH, RR and RCB played superbly well. Case in point, the recently-concluded tournament has witnessed plenty of teams adding plenty of runs in the two-month action-packed tournament.

Among the 10 participating teams, SRH topped the list for scoring the most runs (2883). RCB follow next on the list with 2784 runs whereas RR are third on the list with 2533 runs.

1. Kolkata Knight Riders: The IPL 2024 champions got all the value for the money they invested in the players. The Knight Riders accumulated 2481 runs across the season in 16 games and their total cost per run is INR 2.95 lakh, which is the least by a franchise in IPL 2024, which goes to show that KKR immensely benefited from their batters.

2. Punjab Kings: The Mohali-based franchise mustered 2119 runs in 14 matches of the league stage and their total cost per run is INR 5.05 lakh. Nonetheless, they didn't get support from the batters consistently before they failed to qualify for the playoffs.

3. Sunrisers Hyderabad: Sunrisers can take pride in the fact that they mustered the most runs in IPL 2024. Pat Cummins and Co. accumulated 2883 runs and their total cost per run is INR 6.13 lakh. The Hyderabad-based franchise got value for the money they spent on the players. Unfortunately, they lacked the killer instinct to put up a fight against KKR in the final.

4. Chennai Super Kings: CSK went through ups and downs in the league stage and their journey. They won 7 games and lost as many games in the league stage. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Co. accumulated 2405 runs across the season and their total cost per run is INR 8.37 lakh. CSK failed to qualify for the playoffs for just the third time and finished fifth on the table.

5. Mumbai Indians: The five-time IPL champions had a woeful campaign under the tutelage of Hardik Pandya as they not only failed to qualify for the playoffs but also finished the season at the bottom of the points table. They scored 2422 runs across the season and their total cost per run is INR 10.61 lakh.

6. Lucknow Super Giants: The Lucknow-based franchise failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time ever since their entry in IPL 2022. KL Rahul and Co. garnered 2350 runs across the season and their total cost per run is INR 12.36 lakh.

7. Gujarat Titans: The Ahmedabad-based franchise won the title in IPL 2022 season and were the runners-up in IPL 2023 but they failed to qualify for the playoffs in the subsequent season. They scored 1931 runs across the season and their total cost per run is INR 13.05 lakh.

8. Delhi Capitals: Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals scored 2451 runs throughout the season and their total cost per run is INR 15.18 lakh. This goes to show that they didn't get value for their batting attack.

9. Rajasthan Royals: RR scored 2533 runs in IPL 2024 and their total cost per run is INR 17.35 lakh Sanju Samson and Co. kick-started IPL 2024 superbly well before they gradually lost momentum. However, they qualified for the playoffs and went on to knock RCB out of competition in the Eliminator. RR's journey came to a close after they lost to SRH in Qualifier 2.

10. Royal Challengers Bengaluru: RCB also didn't get the best value for their batting attack in IPL 2024. The best thing that happened to RCB was when they knocked CSK out of the competition and then qualified for the playoffs. Their journey ended when they lost to RR in the Eliminator.
