Mahendra Singh Dhoni is soldiering on for the Chennai Super Kings in this ongoing IPL 2024 season.
MS Dhoni has handed over the captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad, but still very much is the leader of the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.

The veteran has showcased his batting prowess even at this age and has been doing a sufficient job behind the stumps. Amid that, Dhoni's batting down the order has been criticized by some experts.
But later, it was revealed that Dhoni had been playing with an injury. According to reports, the CSK stalwart is nursing back pain, and along with that, he also has a muscle tear. The wicketkeeper-batter from Jharkhand is representing CSK despite the doctor's advice to rest.
Recently, Dhoni was seen wearing a waist belt. The CSK legend wore it during the Gujarat Titans match and the franchise posted an image of the veteran walking towards the dressing room with the waist belt in his hand. They also had a caption in Tamil which read, "Despite his old age...Despite the pain...Despite the reduced strength...A hero never stops wielding his sword!"
Then fans went on to say on social media that the Indian player was wearing the waist belt for the first time in his career. Many took it in a sympathetic way and hailed the former India captain, while a section of fans also criticized him for playing against the doctor's advice. But is it the first time Dhoni has strapped himself with a waist belt?
MS Dhoni has been wearing a waist belt for a long time in his career. During his India days, the player used to wear a Waist Belt while wicketkeeping or batting. The belt generally provides support to the lower back and corrects postural weaknesses. Hence, it is not the first time Dhoni has worn it.
