Rohit Sharma's situation at Mumbai Indians seems to have run its course. With the current notion, it looks like the Mumbai Indians stalwart will leave the franchise at the end of this season.
Rohit Sharma led Mumbai to 5 IPL titles, but the unceremonious way of his removal from captaincy this season has created a massive stir.

The appointment of new captain Hardik Pandya hasn't brought results either as the Paltans are already eliminated in the group stages after a series of dismal performances. The atmosphere in the team doesn't encourage things either, as the fragile relationships at the top have exposed the weak endoskeleton of the 'One Family'.
The latest unfiltered video of Rohit Sharma's chat with KKR assistant coach Abhishek Nayar has further soured the situation as now Rohit looks inevitable to leave the franchise after this season.
But where will Rohit Sharma find his new abode if he is to leave Mumbai Indians? A recent video is surfacing on social media which has heightened the speculation of Rohit's next franchise in the IPL.
In a podcast of the past, Rohit was asked the team he wishes to captain in the IPL apart from Mumbai Indians. And the Mumbai Indians' former captain revealed that it will be none other than Kolkata Knight Riders.
"Eden Gardens is my favourite ground. And lot has happened at Eden Gardens for me, so I would say KKR," Rohit replied to the question in the podcast.
Also, Rohit Sharma was captured talking with KKR players in their dressing room during the rain-affected IPL 2024 match between the Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians.
Now taking the cue from these, a few fans on social media are claiming that the MI stalwart has already made his plans for KKR and has joined them. Some are also claiming that he is surely going to KKR next season.
MyKhel can confirm these baseless rumours are fake and Rohit Sharma is still very much a Mumbai Indians player. Although Rohit previously admitted that he would love to captain KKR, that is a very old video, not a recent comment at all. Hence the context of that comment can't be associated with the current scenario for Rohit Sharma.
Also, Rohit just spent quality time with the KKR players in their dressing room, rather than planning his future with the franchise. Also, it is only ludicrous to think that the dressing room talk was to plan a move to KKR for the upcoming season.
Hence, MI fans can breathe a sigh of relief as their Mumbai Cha Raja is still one of their own.
