IPL 2024: 'Fast Success builds Ego', Former IPL player reveals shocking incident
IPL is hailed for producing a conveyor belt of talents in India, but it has also somehow diluted the importance of domestic cricket in the country.
Players often take IPL as the benchmark and thus concentrate only on the luxurious part of the game, and thus forget to implement and work on the industrious part of the game, which is the main component to be successful in the long run.

Often we have seen the IPL producing talents in the country and selection is also done on the basis of IPL performance, which somehow dilutes the importance of the four-day cricket in India.
And players also get carried away with a huge price tag and fast success, and that kind of takes a toll on their mindset. Recently, Bengal cricketer Anustup Majumder depicted the mindset of an IPL player who got a multi-crore offer in a recent IPL auction, and his mindset in a subsequent Ranji match was unbelievable.
"During a match against that team, the player came in and his body language and mindset were just so disappointing. He was like,'why should I even play this'. He started swinging his bat from the first ball, scored a few runs and got out in no time," Anustup said to MyKhel without mentioning the player's name.
"I have seen people getting fast success. What happens with fast success is that it builds ego, but the life is so long," he continued.
The player in question had a torrid Ranji Trophy last season and overall has a dismal career in first-class cricket with an average of just 10.
