IPL winning former KKR coach leaves current IPL team, will he join KKR or RCB before IPL 2024?

There is another change in the coaching setup in the IPL ahead of the IPL 2024 season.

After the departure of Andy Flower as the Lucknow Supergiants coach, now the franchise has cut its ties with assistant coach Vijay Dahiya as well.

Vijay Dahiya has been a part of LSG since its inception in 2022. He was in the team of former LSG head coach Andy Flower, under whom, the franchise reached playoff spots in both of their first two seasons.

But the LSG management decided to not renew Flower's contract and thus roped in Justin Langer as the new coach of the team ahead of IPL 2024. And in the wake of that, now Vijay Dahiya has also been released as assistant coach.

Dahiya, who has played 19 ODIs and 2 Tests for India, announced the news on social media and wished luck to his former employers.

"Time to bid adieu...LSG. Lucknow Super Giants, it was a wonderful experience working with the team over the past two years. Wishing team LSG all the very best," Dahiya wrote on his Instagram profile.

Dahiya was part of KKR's IPL-winning coaching staff back in 2014 and worked as an understudy of Trevor Bayliss at that time. He is known to be a close mate of Gautam Gambhir, who also left LSG as mentor before the upcoming season.

Will Vijay Dahiya move to KKR or RCB?

Vijay Dahiya has been linked with a move to KKR as Gautam Gambhir joined there as a mentor this year. But the Knight Riders already have a settled coaching staff with Chandrakant Pandit at helm, hence it is unlikely that Dahiya will find his new home in Kolkata.

A move to RCB can be a possibility. LSG's former coach Andy Flower has now landed at Royal Challengers Bangalore, and we may see Dahiya seek pastures in the South and reunite with Flower at RCB, but nothing is concrete at the moment.
