IPL 2024: Four LSG stars who can be perfect as Impact Player

Lucknow Super Giants will be aiming to break their playoffs hoodoo and make it to the Final for the first time in their history in the IPL 2024 edition.

The Super Giants do have a change at the helm as Justin Langer has been appointed as the new head coach, replacing Andy Flower, who has now taken over the duties at Royal Challengers Bangalore.

LSG kept hold of most of their squad members and traded in Devdutt Padikkal from Rajasthan Royals in exchange of Avesh Khan. In the IPL 2024 auction, they brought in David Willey, Shivam Mavi along with some young Indian players.

As they prepare for the IPL this year, they have a formidable squad. The likes of KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock, Nicholas Pooran will be the pillars while Indian stars such as Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya, Ravi Bishnoi and others are also set to play a big part.

But here are four players in the LSG squad who may not start a match but can be a perfect introduction later as an Impact Player-

Ayush Badoni

Young Indian batter Ayush Badoni played the role of Impact Player many times last year. He can have the same role again this season. The 24-year-old has the ability to find the fence in crunch situations and can be a perfect finisher for LSG in a run chase.

Amit Mishra

Amit Mishra may well have entered the fifth decade of his life, but the veteran spinner can still be a lethal weapon in slow and turning pitches. Hence don't be surprised if you see Mishra rolling his arms and getting a few wickets for LSG. He has enormous experience in the IPL (173 wickets in 166 matches), and he can use all of that for the Super Giants.

Mohsin Khan

Mohsin Khan missed out IPL 2023 due to an injury, but the left-arm pacer had an excellent IPL 2022 for LSG. His swing and pace make him a top-notch bowler and LSG can use him as an Impact Player.

Devdutt Padikkal

Devdutt Padikkal was roped in during the trade window. The Karnataka batter has found form in the domestic leagues and can be a potent option for LSG in the IPL. With many batters already in the team, the Super Giants can use Padikkal as an Impact Player when the bat second in a match.
