IPL 2024: Four RCB stars who can be perfect as Impact Player

Royal Challengers Bangalore has signed the maximum quota of 25 players for the IPL 2024.

RCB will be hoping for a decent outing in the IPL 2024 season. The IPL franchise hasn't won an IPL title ever and it is high time they end this drought. Bangalore has added some decent players in the auction, and will be banking on those names in the upcoming edition of the tournament.

RCB do have some top-notch players in their ranks. Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Mohammed Siraj were retained, while Cameron Green was drafted in before the auction. In the auction, they have roped in the likes of Alzarri Joseph, Lockie Ferguson and others.

The Impact Player rule was introduced in IPL 2023 where a player can come on as a substitute and take part in batting and bowling. The arrival of this rule changed the dynamics of the IPL last season, and it is set to play a big part again in 2024. Here are the four players who may not warrant a start, but can be handy as an Impact Player-

Vijaykumar Vyshak

Vijaykumar Vyshak was signed as a replacement midway through IPL 2023, and the pacer has been an instant hit. Vyshak played seven matches and picked up 9 wickets in the tournament.

The 26-year-old was retained by RCB ahead of the auction, and he can play a big part as an Impact Player. Vyshak can be deployed as an Impact Player if RCB bats first in a match. His pace and accuracy can cause problems to opponents and Vyshak can be a viable Impact Player for Faf du Plessis and his team.

Rajat Patidar

Rajat Patidar's inclusion in the IPL 2024 will be a big boost for RCB. He missed out on IPL 2023 due to injury but is fit to feature in the upcoming edition.

The 30-year-old batter was a revelation for RCB in IPL 2022 and his aggressive batting was a driving factor for RCB. Patidar is going to be a certain name in RCB lineup next season, but they may well be enticed to use him as an Impact Player if they bowl first.

Lockie Ferguson

New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson can be a decent option for RCB, but in this case, they will have to name three overseas players in the starting lineup. The Kiwi bowler has lethal pace and it will be a big bonus for RCB if they properly utilize Ferguson.

Karn Sharma

Karn Sharma was another veteran who was retained by RCB for IPL 2024. Sharma, the 36-year-old, has been a long-time servant of IPL for various franchises, and has the experience to be a strong contender for RCB's bowling lineup.

Sharma's experience and guile as a bowler can be something RCB can bank on and they may use him as an Impact Player in some matches.
