IPL 2024: Four SRH Youngsters Who Are Expected To Shine This Season

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) failed to make an impact in IPL 2023 season where they managed to churn our four wins out of the 14 games in the league stage. As a result, they hit the rock-bottom of the points table, in what was their disastrous performance in history.

The Orange Army has won the title in the IPL 2016 season by beating Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final. They finished IPL 2018 season as the runners-up wherein they lost to Chennai Super Kings in the final.

Sunrisers Hyderabad youngsters likley to shine in IPL 2024

Sunrisers qualified for the playoffs in IPL 2020 and since then they failed to make it to the top four in the next three seasons. However, they ensured to make appropriate signings in the IPL 2024 auction and will be looking to rekindle their lost spark this time around.

Let's now take a glimpse at the four SRH youngsters who are expected to do well for the Hyderabad-based franchise in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League - IPL 2024.

1. Abhishek Sharma

The Hyderabad-based franchise roped in Abhishek Sharma for a whopping INR 6.5 crore in the IPL 2022 mega auction. The hard-hitting lower order batsman didn't disappoint as he scored 426 runs at a strike rate of 30.43 including two fifties in IPL 2022.

In the subsequent season, his performance took a hit as he could muster 226 runs including 2 fifties. Considering that he is a raw talent, SRH retained the 23-year-old ahead of the IPL 2024 auction and will surely be someone to keep an eye on.

2. Marco Jansen

Marco Jansen has truly been making waves for South Africa as a promising all-rounder. The 23-year-old who has gained international exposure, has picked up lessons on the go, becoming a valuable asset.

Notably, his potential to deliver the goods with both bat and ball has drawn comparisons with some of the sport's great all-rounders and is said to be the next big thing in South African cricket. He has taken 19 wickets in 18 appearances in the IPL.

3. Umran Malik

Umran Malik has quickly gained recognition for his terrific pace bowling. He burst into the scene for his potential to consistently bowl at speeds in excess of 150 km/h, making him one of the fastest bowling prospects from India.

The 24-year-old has had a great taste of IPL experience so far and will be looking to make his presence count for SRH in IPL 2024. The youngster has played 25 games in IPL so far wherein he accounted for 29 dismissals including a fifer.

4. Washington Sundar

Washington Sundar has been a promising asset as far as the T20 cricket is concerned. The Indian international has often brought the best out of himself in containing runs, thus making effective, especially in powerplay overs.

Apart from controlling the flow of runs and bagging key wickets, he is known to contribute runs with the bat. He has taken 36 wickets and scored 378 runs in 58 IPL appearances.
