Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has hinted a much deeper inspection will be done for their dismal IPL 2024 campaign.
Mumbai Indians are virtually eliminated after their defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday (May 3) at the Wankhede Stadium. Despite restricting KKR to just 169 runs, the Paltans got skittled for 145 and lost the crucial match by 24 runs.

After the match, the MI skipper dissected their defeat and put the blame mainly on the batters. He praised the bowling effort but admitted the star-studded batting squad was not up to the mark again.
Obviously, we couldn't form partnerships and kept losing wickets. Bowlers did a fantastic job on this track. The wicket got better if I'm not wrong. Dew came in the second innings. Will go through the game and see what we can do better," Pandya said after the match.
The atmosphere at Mumbai Indians hasn't been healthy at all this season. After the departure of Rohit Sharma as captain and Hardik Pandya taking over, things have gone sour. Hardik Pandya received a lot of abuse and boos while the performance of their stars except Jasprit Bumrah hasn't been up to the mark at all. And it has reflected in the points table as MI have 6 points after 11 matches, with just three wins to their name.
And Hardik Pandya hinted there will be questions which need to be answered but may take time. The questions may consist of both on-field and off-field issues.
"There are a lot of questions but that will take some time to answer but for now, not much to say. We will go through the game and see what could we have done better. You keep fighting, that is what I tell to myself, never leave the battlefield, tough days come but good also come here, it's challenging but challenges make you better," Pandya added.
The five-time IPL champions will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad next on May 6 at the Wankhede Stadium.
