IPL 2024: Hardik Pandya was fined for the first time as Mumbai Indians captain for maintaining a slow over rate in the match against Punjab Kings at the New PCA Stadium in Mullanpur on Thursday, April 18.
Mumbai Indians could not bowl their 20 overs in the stipulated time. With this being only the first instance of Mumbai failing to match the over-rate criteria, only Rs. 12 lakh fine was imposed. The fine would be doubled in case there is a second instance.

"Hardik Pandya, the Mumbai Indians captain, has been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate during their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Punjab Kings at the PCA New International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur on April 18," BCCI said in a release after the PBKS vs MI match.
However, Hardik Pandya’s Mumbai managed to beat Punjab Kings despite a spirited batting display from Ashutosh Sharma, and registered their first away win of the season. Overall, they have won three out of their seven matches to occupy the seventh spot in the teams IPL 2024 table.
