IPL 2024: How has KKR Victory made Rapper Drake Rs 1.7 Crore Richer?

Kolkata Knight Riders clinched their 3rd IPL title after beating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024 Final on Sunday (May 26).

After a scintillating performance with the ball which saw them skittling SRH for just 113 runs, the Knight Riders chased the score down in 10.3 overs to register a superb victory by 8 wickets.

KKR

The win ended KKR's decade-long IPL trophy drought. As the fans of KKR and the players will be over the moon, the victory has also been a cause of smiles for singer-rapper Drake.

Drake made Rs 2 Crore Bet on KKR before IPL 2024 Final

Grammy-winning rapper Drake made headlines by placing a USD 250,000 bet on KKR to win the IPL 2024 Final against SRH, which accounts for around Rs 2 crore in Indian currency. With a 1.8 odd, the rapper was set to get USD 450,000 if KKR won.

This was Drake's first venture into cricket betting, having previously tried his luck in basketball, American Football, and Rugby. The 37-year-old artist shared his bet slip on Instagram, fueling excitement around the IPL final.

Drake captioned his Instagram Story with, "I am going with KKR for my first ever cricket bet, Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo," along with an image of the bet slip.

Drake Wins around Rs 1.7 Crore

As KKR won the match, Drake inevitably won his bet. With the bet of around Rs 2 crore in Indian currency, Drake will now collect about Rs 3.73 crore, thus making him around 1.7 crore richer. Although the rapper didn't share any update after winning the bet, he must have been beaming after bagging the humongous sum of money.
