Former RCB all-rounder Shane Watson left everyone spellbound with a shocking apology to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans in an event recently.
RCB are one of the teams who are yet to win an IPL trophy. They have been guilty of not winning any silverware despite having a star-studded squad in almost every edition of the tournament.

But this year can be an end to that as RCB qualified for the playoffs from the brink of elimination. They were at the bottom of the table with six matches to go, and they came back in stellar fashion to register their place in the playoffs, with six consecutive victories.
Despite their drought in trophies, the Bengaluru outfit came agonizingly close to winning on three occasions, but they were the beaten Finalists in all of them. Out of those three Finals, the IPL 2016 final was perhaps the biggest miss.
RCB, in that season, was in stellar form. Virat Kohli had scored more than 900 runs and the entire team looked destined to win the tournament. But they lost the Final to Sunrisers Hyderabad and since then have never been in the championship spectacle.
Then RCB all-rounder Shane Watson took the responsibility of the defeat to his own shoulders and apologized 'profusely' to the RCB fans in a recent event.
"First of all to the RCB fans, I need to profusely apologize to the RCB fans because of the IPL Final 2016 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. I was hoping to perform my very, very best but unfortunately, I had one of the worst performances when it comes from a bowling perspective in that final. I most probably cost RCB winning the Final of that IPL. So, I want to apologize," Watson said at an event at the Presidency University in Bengaluru.
Watson's performance was not up to the mark in the final. The Australian conceded 61 runs in his four overs with the ball, and then scored only 11 runs off 9 balls during the run chase as RCB lost the match by 8 runs.
