The Indian Premier League (IPL) is just around the corner and will start from March 22 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, where defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will host southern rivals Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opener.
Like the previous two editions, the ten teams will play 14 league stage matches and will have the advantage of their designate homes this season with the IPL 2024 set to be hosted in India despite the general elections in the country.

All the teams assembled their squads for the upcoming season at the IPL Auction 2024, which took place last year on December 19 for the first time outside India, at the Coco Cola Arena in Dubai, UAE.
Most players have already started arriving for their teams respective camps from the start of the month, while some have been hit by injury on their road to preparation for the season.
Last season, we saw several key players miss action due to injury like Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Kane Williamson, Will Jacks, Reece Topley among many others. But, most of them are available for this season, adding boost to their respective sides.
However, there are some fresh faces added to the injury list for this season already as Gujarat Titans are likely to be without ace pacer Mohammed Shami, and CSK are likely to miss Devon Conway for part of the season.
Meanwhile, there are some players who are recovering from injury, also stand a chance of missing the season's action, especially with the T20 World Cup 2024 scheduled to start just five days after the IPL 2024 final.
A few players have also withdrawn citing workload management. However, the respective teams have already roped in replacement for those players. Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants were forced into finding replacements in this regard.
Some overseas and even Indian players likely to be called up to the squads for the T20 World Cup in USA and Caribbean also could cut short their campaigns, while some more England players also could opt for an early exit with national duties lined up.
As it stands, there is news of only three players likely to miss the season with several being doubtful starters, having picked up injuries earlier this year like Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan and star India batter Suryakumar Yadav. Here is a look at the team-wise IPL 2024 injury list:
