Kolkata Knight Riders are potentially eyeing to bring in a replacement if Mujeeb ur Rahman is unavailable for IPL 2024.
KKR bought Mujeeb ur Rahman in the IPL 2024 auction at his base price of Rs. 2 crore, but the Afghanistan player is likely to miss the upcoming edition of the tournament.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board has sanctioned Mujeeb for not wanting to sign a central contract, and as of now, ACB has revoked Mujeeb's NOCs for joining the franchise leagues and will do so for the next two years from January 2024.
With a potential ban and uncertainty on Mujeeb's future, KKR will have to think of an alternative and here are the three alternatives of the Afghan mystery bowler who can arrive at KKR-
England leg-spinner Adil Rashid was released by SRH ahead of the auction and remained unsold in the auction. The veteran spinner can be an alternative for Mujeeb and KKR can rope him in if needed. Rashid's vast experience can be a big plus for KKR, and someone like Suyash Sharma can also learn a lot from him.
Adil Rashid has a modest IPL career, having picked up 2 wickets in just three matches. But the 35-year-old can be a good option for the Knight Riders.

Michael Bracewell played a few matches for RCB last season and then got released by them. The Kiwi spinner can be brought in by KKR if Mujeeb is unavailable.
Bracewell is a handy spinner, and adding to that, he can be a pretty decent batter at the lower-middle order. The 32-year-old's all-round ability is something KKR can bank on if they eye to sign him.
Tabraiz Shamsi is another potential Mujeeb replacement for the Knight Riders. The South Africa international has grown in the T20 format and was also a former no. 1 ranked bowler.
Shamsi can be a weapon for the two-time IPL winners, especially at Eden Gardens. He has only played 5 IPL matches in his career and has 3 wickets. But the wrist-spinner is a wicket-taker in the international format and can be a decent addition to the KKR artillery.
