The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has sanctioned three of their elite international players after they decided to not sign the central contract.
Mujeeb ur Rahman, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Naveen ul Haq - all are out of IPL 2024 as the players have been denied NOCs by ACB. The trio reportedly didn't want to commit their future to Afghan cricket by not signing the central contracts, and that hasn't gone well with the board.

With the sanction on them, it was jeopardized their respective franchises. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants both retained Fazalhaq Farooqi and Naveen ul Haq respectively, while Kolkata Knight Riders bought Mujeeb ur Rahman at his base price of Rs. 2 crore in the IPL 2024 auction.
It will come as a huge blow for the teams, but ACB has taken a strict approach to the three players. The Afghan board's sanctions include a ban on central contract for a year, and no NOCs for franchise tournaments for the next two years.
The players are further in trouble as the current NOCs are also going to be revoked, which means the trio can't take part in either of the upcoming SA20 or ILT20 tournaments.
