Australian women's team captain Alyssa Healy has recently revealed her immediate thoughts after her husband Mitchell Starc got a mega deal in the IPL 2024 auction.
Mitchell Starc was roped in by Kolkata Knight Riders for a jaw-dropping amount of Rs. 24.75 crore in the auction. This crazy deal thus makes Starc the most expensive player in the history of the competition.

It created shockwaves around the globe as KKR and GT got involved in an intense battle for the Australian pacer. Both teams pushed for the left-arm pacer but the Knight Riders prevailed and landed their prime target in the auction.
Alyssa Healy, who is leading the Australian women team against India women in the ODI series, was in India on the auction day (December 19) and she revealed her initial thoughts after the mega-deal which her husband received.
Healy spoke with JioCinema and says the moment was shocking and amazing at the same time.
"I was at the gym preparing for the Test match at the time of the bid. Initially, it was a shock and amazement that such a bid could happen. It's a crazy amount of money," she said.
Mitchell Starc is making a return to the IPL after an eight-year hiatus. The Australian pacer was not part of the competition since 2014 and will now be playing at a new home in Kolkata Knight Riders.
"From his (Mitchell Starc's) point of view it's an opportunity to get back and experience the IPL. He hasn't been here for eight years so for him it's an exciting opportunity to experience a new team and new franchise, and play a significant role for them," Healy further added.
Incidentally, Starc was also bought by KKR in the IPL 2018, but the Aussie pacer decided not to play that season due to an injury. The two-time IPL Champions also signed other players like Gus Atkinson, Manish Pandey, Sherfane Rutherford in the auction.
Like her husband, Healy is also part of the franchise league in India as she plays in the WPL for UP Warriorz. And speaking on her experience, the 33-year-old says playing in WPL was an eye-opener for her.
"The WPL opened my eyes to what it's like to be an Indian cricketer. We've traditionally come here and played as an Australian team against India. With the WPL, I've got a new appreciation for the boys and girls who play cricket in India. Getting to know all the girls is something we don't get to do at the international level. But to sit in the same room as someone like Deepti Sharma and see how she goes about things was an eye-opening experience," she said.
Australia women lost their one-off Test match against India, but started off the ODI series with a victory on Thursday (December 28).
