Kolkata Knight Riders have provided the latest update of their captain Shreyas Iyer for the IPL 2024.
The 17th season of the Indian Premier League commences from March 22 and KKR will be hoping to end their decade-long trophy drought.

The Knight Riders are gearing up for the new season at Eden Gardens as many of their star players have already arrived at the City of Joy. Despite that, there were doubts over the future of Shreyas Iyer.
Iyer found his recurrent back pain to be back again and thus didn't take part in the final two days of the Ranji Final between Mumbai and Vidarbha. There were rumours that the KKR captain may not take part in the IPL again due to his issue, which already made him skip the IPL last year.
But it is a massive relief for KKR as Iyer is likely to take part from the start. Iyer has travelled to Kolkata to join his team ahead of the new season and reached the City of Joy on Saturday night. This move comes amidst swirling rumours about his fitness and availability for the upcoming season.
KKR also announced the arrival of their captain on social media, confirming Iyer's presence in Kolkata.
However, following recent medical evaluations, it has been confirmed that Iyer's back issues are not as severe as initially feared. Scans revealed no significant problems, allowing him to be cleared for action from the start of the season.
KKR officials have expressed their confidence in Iyer's availability, looking forward to his contribution to the team's efforts. KKR will face Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23 in Kolkata to kickstart their campaign.
KKR have already lost two of their overseas stars this season. Both English players Gus Atkinson and Jason Roy withdrew from the tournament, and KKR had to replace the players, with Dushmantha Chameera and Phil Salt being the respective replacements.
