The England players' availability for the IPL 2024 playoffs has been a huge matter of question in the recent past.
As the IPL 2024 enters its business stage, the speculation on the English players playing in the playoffs is not definite yet.

Initially, there were talks of England players leaving just after the group stages. England will be taking on Pakistan in a T20I series before the T20 World Cup, and their first team players are expected to be a part of it.
It came as a huge blow to Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals. Both teams are poised to advance to the playoffs and KKR and RR would have missed Phil Salt and Jos Buttler respectively, leaving a huge blank to fill.
But BCCI reportedly had a talk with ECB to extend the players' stay in the IPL. There have been reports recently that the players may skip the Pakistan series to play in the IPL playoffs.
A total of 13 English players are taking part in the IPL 2024 across seven teams. RR and KKR have two and one player respectively in their squads. Realistically, PBKS (4 English players) and RCB (3 English Players) are likely not to be part of the IPL playoffs.
KKR and Rajasthan Royals would be disappointed if their star players were to leave the IPL playoffs for international duty. Although BCCI is in dialogue with ECB for a possible extension at this very moment, it is kind of tough to predict the future of the English players. But as of now, England internationals are likely to leave India to take part in the Pakistan series, especially with the T20 World Cup around the corner.
