Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have enhanced their brand value after a stellar IPL 2024 campaign and now have overtaken the Mumbai Indians, who had a dismal season.
A survey conducted by Houlihan Lokey, a global investment bank specializing in financial valuation has released their report which also states that the IPL's brand value has also taken a significant hike.

As per the report, the value of IPL as a business has increased 6.5% and now it stands at USD 16.4 billion, which is Rs 135,000 crores in Indian currency. The brand value of IPL has also taken rise to USD 3.4 billion, which translates to around Rs 28,000 crores.
Among the teams, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) leads in both brand and business value rankings. CSK is the most consistent IPL team, qualifying for the playoffs in 12 out of 15 seasons and winning five titles. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former captain, has been a key figure in their success.
Ranked second in brand and business value, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has a brand worth of USD 227 million. Known for its passionate fan base, RCB is a beloved IPL franchise. Virat Kohli, one of the era's finest batsmen, has boosted RCB's popularity. RCB's journey from 10th place to playoff qualification made them the most watched and discussed franchise this year.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), winners of the TATA IPL 2024, are now third in brand value with USD 216 million. KKR leverages the fame of its owner, Shahrukh Khan, and standout players like Shreyas Iyer, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Rinku Singh. Mumbai Indians (MI) rank fourth with a brand value of USD 204 million. With Hardik Pandya returning as captain, MI remains a prominent and evolving IPL team, paving a path to player trades.
Among all the IPL teams, Delhi Capitals is the solitary franchise whose brand value has gone down from last year. Compared to last year, it has decreased around 1.5 per cent for the Capitals.
