Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul is being tipped to be India's next defence minister by the franchise.

In a hilarious exchange between one of LSG fans and KL Rahul, the India batter was seen misunderstanding the defence minister tag.

The video, which is shared by Lucknow Super Giants on their social media, shows a fan congratulating KL Rahul and saying that the LSG captain must become India's next defence minister.

"I think aapko to India ka next defence minister hona chahiye (I think you should be India's next defence minister)," the fan says.

KL Rahul gets perplexed by the comment and says that the fan if he making fun of his low strike rate in the match against Gujarat Titans. Rahul scored 33 runs off 31 balls in their IPL 2024 match against the Titans on Sunday. Hence he thought the fan was making a mockery of that.

But the fan reveals the true reason why he wanted KL Rahul to become the defence minister. It was because they defended a target yet again in this IPL edition. LSG secured their third consecutive win in the IPL 2024 after a superb victory over Gujarat Titans.

They defended 163 runs at the BRSABV Ekana Stadium and won the match by 33 runs. The match against GT was LSG's 15th win in 18 matches when they batted first in IPL. They are also unbeaten in 13 matches when they have posted a score over 160 in the IPL.
